Brooklyn, N.Y., Apr. 24, 1906, broadcast Nazi propaganda in English over German radio. At the war's end, he was captured in Germany by the British, who claimed jurisdiction, despite his U.S. birth, because Joyce held a British passport. He was convicted of treason and hanged on Jan. 3, 1946.
